Allergy season is in full force in the McMillan household!!!!

Unfortunately as the nicer spring weather begins, so do our allergies.  The boys both started with runny noses and coughing on Friday.  By Saturday I was still feeling great and made the mistake of saying how my allergies weren't bad at all and that maybe my pregnancy would keep them under control this summer!  NOT!!!  By Sunday I was so congested!  So much for that idea :)  Since I'm limited in what I can take I've been living on water and OJ and Benadryl at night and sometimes Tylenol if the pressure in my head is too bad.  Once I am through the first trimester I can start taking my Zyrtec again...3 more weeks to go!

Eric had a great baseball game on Saturday.  He made some great hits and got to play catcher for the first time!

This weekend we (and by we, I mostly mean Jim) got the flowerbed on the side of the house dug up and planted (I did the planting though!!!)  And thanks to my brother delivering mulch, all our flowerbeds are mulched (I helped with this too)!  We have a few more outside projects to get done this spring....then before we know it it will be time to start on the bedrooms for the boys and the new baby!  I have a feeling this summer is going to fly by!

How far along? 10 weeks – yeah!!! Double digit weeks have started!!!!
Maternity clothes?  Bought a new pair of jeans this weekend and have been wearing some of my maternity tops.  Can still fit in some of my regular clothes but they are fading quickly!!!
Sleep:  Not sleeping great with a stuffy nose!!! Darn allergies!
Best moment this week:  Getting my flower bed finished and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Miss Anything?  Allergy Medicine!!!!
Movement:  Still too early for that!
Food cravings: Not really…I have to see a food to decide if I want it or not…. No food is really appealing right now.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still nauseous….not always just in the morning and sometimes it’s completely random.  Don’t even have to be around food.  Hoping that goes away in the next couple weeks
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
Symptoms:  still pretty tired and nauseous
Belly Button in or out?  in
Happy or Moody most of the time Happy, Moody and Emotional…depends on the minute :)  Note to self....do not watch Hallmark movies while pregnant!
Looking forward to: Going shopping for some new clothes this weekend and our doctor appointment next Wednesday!

Another Week....

Not much new this week.
  • I've been extra tired this week...and Jacob deciding he's "too little to sleep by himself" at 4:30 this morning didn't help!
  • Excited to find out I got picked to chaperone Eric's zoo field trip in a couple weeks!  Hoping I am able to handle the school bus ride into the city :)
  • Enjoying the nicer weather that we've been having lately.  We bought Jacob a bike to attach to ours, like Eric has, and we all rode the bike trail last night!  Hoping to do more of that this spring and summer.

How far along? 9 weeks
Maternity clothes?  I officially cannot button any of my pants anymore, so I’ve been rockin’ the hair band on the button for now :)  Going to have to start putting the maternity stuff in my closet and drawers!
Sleep:  Still sleeping well, most nights!
Best moment this week:  The warmer weather is back!  Enjoying being outside with the boys! And going for walks and bike rides!
Miss Anything?  Nope
Movement:  Still too early for that!
Food cravings: Not really
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nauseous in the mornings…usually any food smell can bring it on…especially when opening the fridge or dishwasher!
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
 Symptoms:  pretty tired!
Belly Button in or out?  in
Happy or Moody most of the time Happy, although I can be moody if I don’t get enough sleep!
Looking forward to: Actually looking pregnant and not just like I ate too many cookies :)

Moving Along!

This past weekend we announced our news to the boys and our families!  Everyone was so excited.  We had this picture printed and handed them out.  Some people got it right away, others took a little while to figure it out!

We were a little afraid that Eric wasn't going to take the news so well.  We didn't think he would like the idea of having to share a room with Jacob.  Surprisingly he is probably the most excited.  He has named the baby "Peanut" and is constantly talking and asking questions about the baby!  Jacob seems excited but I don't think it's real for him yet.

This week I had my bloodwork done and met with the intake nurse.  I wish there was an express lane for experienced moms-to-be...most everything is a repeat and it takes forever!!!

Yep, there's a tiny bump starting!  Its bigger toward the end of the day and it's getting harder to button some of my pants!

How far along? 8 weeks
Maternity clothes? Wore a pair of maternity shorts this week because it was 85 degrees and the maternity clothes bin was closer than my summer clothes bin! Typically I can still wear my regular clothes...sometimes unbuttoned by the end of the day! :)
Sleep:  Falling asleep pretty quickly lately...very unusual for me!
Best moment this week:  Telling our families!!!
Miss Anything?  Nope
Movement:  Too early for that!
Food cravings: None yet
Anything making you queasy or sick:  This week it was the dog!  Ugh, he stunk!!!
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
Symptoms:  Fatigue and some nausea, starting to get a tiny bump!
Belly Button in or out?  in
Happy or Moody most of the time Happy!
Looking forward to: 12 week ultrasound and seeing our baby again!

Big News!

We are excited to announce……..

I took a pregnancy test on the morning of March 13th.  Jim had been in Wisconsin on a fire company trip and was coming home late that night.  I had the boys make a “Welcome Home Daddy” sign and signed their names at the bottom.  We hung it on the door so he would see it when he came home.  After the boys went to bed I took a smaller piece of poster board and wrote “and Baby #3” and attached it to the bottom of the sign.  When Jim came home late that night, I was still awake….too excited to fall asleep.  I heard him in the laundry room saying “Really?  Really?”  It was so great to be able to surprise him with the 3rd since he was with me when I tested with both the boys!

Since this will be our last pregnancy, I wanted to document every couple of weeks so I could look back and remember.  Along with updating the chalkboard, I am planning on answering some questions I have found through Pinterest.

How far along? 7 weeks
Maternity clothes? Not yet…waiting to see how long I can hold out.  I have a feeling I will pop pretty quickly with this one!
Sleep:  Sleeping ok for right now….
Best moment this week:  Seeing the baby on the ultrasound and watching the little heartbeat!  Best thing ever!!!
Miss Anything?  Not yet, life has been pretty normal!
Movement:  Too early for that!
Food cravings: None yet
Anything making you queasy or sick: The other morning the smell of Jim’s coffee made me nauseous.
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
 Symptoms:  Fatigue and some nausea
Belly Button in or out?  in
Happy or Moody most of the time Happy!
Looking forward to: Sharing the news with our families.
