6 months!!!

I can't believe there are only 6 more weeks until school starts and 16 weeks until this baby is here!  We are working hard to get everything ready while still trying to make time to enjoy the rest of summer vacation!

Last week we spent our days at the pool and the playground.  Thankfully the weather has cooled down a little bit so it's not so unbearable to be outside.

Friday I went to the doctor for my 24 week appointment.  She said everything is looking great.  I was measuring exactly 23 weeks, 2 days!  She assured me that she rarely sees a patient whose placenta doesn't move up by 28 weeks and was able to get a heartbeat on the doppler on the first try, which she said was a good sign that my placenta has already moved.  I will still go back for another ultrasound to check at the end of August.   In addition I will get to have another anatomy scan at 32 weeks because I am on blood pressure medication.  I had one with Jacob and by then you are really able to see facial features....it's really cool!

Friday night we headed out to the Kimberton Fair.  The boys were excited to watch Uncle Zach in the log sawing contest and see the fireworks.  Jacob was tired and complained that his stomach hurt on the way there.  When we got out of the truck he was still complaining his stomach hurt and warned us about one second before he threw up all over the walking path to the fairgrounds!  When Jacob heard me call Mom to come get Eric he got upset and said he felt so much better and he really wanted to go to the fair.  Thankfully he was right, he was perfectly fine and enjoyed the night at the fair and watching the fireworks.  Still have no idea what was wrong with him, but thankfully  no one else got sick! The boys played the ring toss game and ended up winning 5 bottles of soda!

Our garden is still doing great!  We are overloaded with tomatoes and our indian corn and pumpkin plants are getting really big too!  We even have one little pumpkin started!

Saturday Jim worked most of the day on the shelves for the boys' closet.  It turned out great and there is even more storage space than I expected!

Sunday we laid the new carpet in the room and picked up these cute storage cubes for each of the boys.  I have to come up with some way to monogram them so the boys know whose is whose.

Sunday we went to Chili's for an early dinner and surprised the boys by taking them to see the movie Turbo!  They were so excited and loved the movie.

How far along? 24 weeks
Maternity clothes? yep, no change here
Sleep: still sleeping pretty well at night, except getting up at least once.  Getting tired of sleeping on my side…my shoulders are starting to get sore!  Trying to lay down for at least a ½ hour every day to recharge!
Best moment this week: Family night with Jim and the boys  on Sunday…dinner at Chili’s and going to see Turbo in the theaters.
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach!
Movement: Baby is moving a lot more….still hard to feel outside, but kicks are getting stronger.
Food cravings: Still loving the watermelon!  We’ve gone through 3 in the last week….keep them coming Dad :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Jacob getting sick on the way to the fair didn’t sit well, but I don’t have to be pregnant for that to make me queasy :)
Gender:  BOY
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
 Symptoms: tired, achy
Belly Button in or out? Still in
Happy or Moody most of the time
Happy this week!
Looking forward to: Working more on the boys' room and getting finished!

Another productive week

This past week we've gotten a little bit closer to being ready for the baby!  I finished moving all the toys to the basement while the boys were at Bible School and Saturday I cleaned out the rest of Eric's room and Jim painted the closet.  Hoping this weekend we can get the closet organizer built and then get the new carpet for the floor so we can move in the bunk beds and build the desk/bookshelves.  I am anxious to get started on the baby's room!

The boys ended their week of Bible School with a program and lunch for the parents.  Eric refused to get up front to sing with his class.  He does not like to perform in front of a group.  Jacob did get up to sing...it was so cute!  While they don't like to get up during church with the other kids to sing, they have been singing along to the CD of songs from Bible School that we were given.

Saturday night Jim and the boys went with Dad to The Buck Motorsports Park in Quarryville.  They watched the Combine Demolition Derby.   Eric loved it and didn't want to leave at the end of the night.  Jacob, as usual, was more interested in the food....cotton candy and snow cones!

Sunday the boys and I spent the afternoon swimming, as usual and the boys helped Grandpa in the garden.  Thankfully the heatwave has broken and although it is still hot, it's not completely unbearable.  I am so ready for the fall and some cooler weather.  I would love to be able to open windows and let some fresh air in the house!

While the boys were in bible school, they erupted volcanoes.  Jacob remembered that you needed baking soda and vinegar to do the experiment, so we made our own volcanoes at home on Tuesday.  Of course, it was only about 10 seconds of fun, but they loved it!

We ordered the car seat that we picked out for the baby.  The car seat we used with Eric and Jacob had expired so we had to get a new one.  I love the owl print with the brown and blue!

How far along? 23 weeks
Maternity clothes? yep, no change here
Sleep: have been sooo tired lately.  Thinking it may have to do with my blood pressure meds, but I'm going to mention it to the doctor on Friday.
Best moment this week: Working on Eric’s room….ready for the closet organizer, carpet and bunk beds!!!
Miss Anything?  Nothing this week
Movement: Baby is moving more each week.  Jim was finally able to feel the little pops one time this week.  Still really hard to feel anything from the outside.
Food cravings: Watermelon!  Dad picked one that was ready and it was so good!
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing this week!
Gender:  BOY
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
 Symptoms: tired, achy
Belly Button in or out? Still in…wondering if it won’t pop all the way out with my placenta in the front???
Happy or Moody most of the time
Depends on the day…getting a little tired of the heat so it makes me pretty cranky some days!
Looking forward to: Hearing the baby’s heartbeat at my doctor appointment on Friday.

Summertime!

I can't believe summer is almost halfway over!  I have been having a lot of fun having the boys home with me, although it would be great if the humidity would take a hike because we are going a little stir crazy inside the house!

On Friday the boys and I went to the Elmwood Park Zoo with one of Eric's friends and his younger sister.  The kids had so much fun! They even got to feed a giraffe!

These sheep are called "Jacob Sheep"  Jacob thought this was so awesome!!!

Saturday Jim and the boys went  to a car show while I went shopping with Mom.....we bought new quilts for the boy's bunk beds and did some baby shopping!

Amanda made me these adorable onesies!  I am planning on having her help me make more for the baby to wear in the hospital instead of the plain white ones!

We managed to rearrange the basement to make room for the boys Lego area and the toys are starting to make their way downstairs.  We also planned out the closet organizer that Jim is going to build in Eric and Jacob's closet....It feels like we still have a while to go until the baby is here, but the weeks are moving fast and there's lots to do!  I am excited to get the boys' rooms finished!

Sunday Jim, Eric and I went to the Phillies game!  It was HOT, but it was a great game and they ended up winning in extra innings!  Its so cute to watch how interested Eric is in the games!

While we took Eric to the Phillies game, Jacob spent the day with Grammy and Grandpa.  He was so excited to help Grandpa in the garden, but needed to make sure there was enough room in the wagon for him to ride back to the house :)

Monday the boys started Vacation Bible School.  Its 3 hours every morning, so it's nice to have a break to get stuff done around the house...and I am getting a lot done!!! They are having a great time and meeting some new friends!
