32 weeks and apples, apples, apples!

I am officially 8 months!  Baby is full term at 37 weeks so technically we could have a baby in 5 weeks! (Though I am not betting he will come that early!)  I can definitely feel him growing...he is running out of room and making me very uncomfortable!  Eric told me the other day I should just ask the doctor to take him out now! :)

Our past week was full of apple activities!  Wednesday night we went to Uncle Roger's to pick apples from his apple trees.  The boys thought it was great to use Poppop Kolb's old apple picker!  They got the hang of it, though it wasn't safe to stand anywhere close to them while they were using it!

I made an apple cake and Jacob helped me make apple crisp with the apples we picked!

Thursday night we went to Jim's parents for Eric to get a haircut for picture day this week.  Grammie had applesauce ready for the boys to make.  They liked the idea of making applesauce but said it was too much work!

Saturday morning we went to Weaver's to pick apples so Jim can make apple dumplings!

After Weaver's we went to a stand in Lancaster to get carving pumpkins and mums.  We got a few pumpkins from our garden but none big enough for jack o' lanterns.  The ones we bought are definitely big enough!

Loving the fall look of the front of our house!!!

We ended our fun weekend with dinner at Outback!  This week I have to go in to the hospital to do my pre-registration paperwork and meet with the anesthesiologist.  Friday Jim and I are going for my 32 week growth scan (ultrasound).  Looking forward to seeing our little peanut again, probably the last time until he is born.  Monday I have my regular OB appointment...going every 2 weeks now.

How far along? 32 weeks- baby is the size of a large jicama (a sweet edible root eaten raw in salads or cooked as a vegetable) I had to look it up to see what it was!

Maternity clothes? Stuff is getting tighter in the belly :(
Sleep: trying to take a short nap every day and I’m in bed pretty early every night…Jim is getting bored by himself!
Best moment this week: Spending a fun Saturday with the boys picking apples
Miss Anything?  Nothing this week
Movement: Getting easier to feel all his moving around.  He has been kicking me up under my ribs…it hurts!
Food cravings: nothing new
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week!
Gender:  BOY
Labor Signs: quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions this week…baby feels like he has dropped lower this week, getting uncomfortable.

Looking forward to: Growth scan on Friday….hopefully they’ll be able to tell us about how big the baby will be.  Hoping for no bigger than Jacob who was 8lbs 10oz.

counting down single digit weeks!!!

Wow!!! Only 9 more weeks, give or take....til we meet our newest baby boy!!!  We are getting more ready each week, though lately I've lacked motivation to get stuff done.  I'm sure that nesting instinct will kick in soon (I HOPE!!!)

This week we met Eric's 2nd grade teacher at Back to School night.  She seemed really nice and Eric seems to enjoy going to school.  His teacher has asked for parent volunteers during the week so I am looking forward to going in again to help out in the classroom on Wednesdays when Mom is off to watch Jacob.

Friday I had my 30 week doctor appointment.  Baby is doing great and has a strong heartbeat!  I get to have another ultrasound at the end of the month due to my high blood pressure, which thankfully has been great since I'm on the medication.

While I was on my way home from picking up Jacob from school on Friday, Manda called me and said her and Mommom stopped at a yard sale that had 3 wooden rocking chairs.  She knew I was looking for one for the baby's room.  I met them there and scored a pretty nice one for only $10.  I figured since I was buying a used one I would have to paint it, but this one is in such great shape that I am just going to make a cushion for it and hang the crib quilt on the back.

Saturday we took the boys to Lowes to build a fire truck then headed to the fire house for Community Day.  The day was a huge success with over 300 people in attendance. Eric was a big help with the obstacle course...he loved helping to run one of the stations!!! Everyone really seems to enjoy it, which makes all Jim (and my) hard work worth it!

My favorite picture....Jim and his dads...all with the same stance!!!

The crowd of people that came....watching the live burn.

 Boys sitting inside the helicopter.

Saturday night Jim and Dad went to the Hunter's Banquet so Mom and I went out to dinner with the boys.  Mom let them pick where they wanted to go....they chose Red Lobster!!  They love the mozzarella cheese sticks there, and ate them all! (Well, I had a couple).  A little scared of what our food bills are going to be as they get older!!!

Last week Jacob made playdough at school.  He has been asking to make it at home but I didn't know what recipe his teacher used.  Well, Monday he must have asked his teacher for the recipe so at pick up she made sure to tell me what she used.  So, Monday afternoon Jacob and I made orange playdough and made lots of "characters"....snowmen, pumpkins, caterpillars.....

All weekend I've had a stuffy nose, sore throat and a really annoying dry cough.   Thinking it's just allergies and everything draining, but other than my allergy medicine, there really isn't much else I can take.  Typically I would take cold medicine to help but not this time.  Some days are better than others, but night time is the worse....hoping it clears sooner rather than later!!!

How far along? 31 weeks- counting down weeks in the single digits now!!!
Maternity clothes? Loving being able to wear some of my fall stuff, bought a couple pair of pants this week.
Sleep: sleeping well at night, could be better without a stuffy nose though.
Best moment this week: Hearing baby’s heartbeat at the doctor on Friday…best sound ever!
Miss Anything?  Cold Medicine!
Movement: Still the same
Food cravings: nothing new this week….with a stuffy nose, nothing really tastes good anyway.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week!
Gender:  BOY
Labor Signs: nothing new
 Symptoms: same old, same old.
Belly Button in or out? Still in between
Happy or Moody most of the time

Looking forward to: The weekend!  Planning on “camping” in the backyard with the boys!

Getting closer!!!

10 more weeks!!!  Time seems to be going so fast!  Even though I know we are doing great getting everything done, some days I feel like I need to step it up and start accomplishing more to get ready for the baby and life after baby.....like Christmas shopping, stocking up on groceries and freezing some meals for when I don't feel like cooking.

Things have been pretty quiet with Eric at school all day.  The first day Jacob seemed pretty lost.  We spent lots of time playing games and legos together to pass the time!

Here is Jacob waiting for Eric's bus to come home on the first day of school!

We picked our first pumpkins from the garden this week.  No big ones, but we're happy we have any at all!  The ones we picked are just the right size for decorating the front step!

I'm working on wall decorations for the nursery.  I made these owl pictures from a pattern I found on Pinterest.  Jacob even worked with me and made his own owl, which he turned into a stick puppet....which lead to making other stick puppets and putting on a puppet show!!!

We also hung a shelf above the changing table for the Scentsy elephant and a cute "peanut" frame that my Mom bought.  Hoping to add some other decorations on and around the shelf as well.

Friday was Jacob's first day of Pre-K.  He did awesome.  The first day was just a short day, only 1 1/2 hours and the parents stay at the school to go over all the paperwork and information with the director.

Saturday I went to get a manicure....so nice to do that every once in a while.    Saturday night Jim and Eric went to the Phillies game.  They had seats 8 rows behind the home dugout!!! I was pretty jealous :)  Eric had a great time and loved sitting so close!  He said next time he wants to sit in the very first row....keeping dreaming buddy!!!

While they were at the Phillies game, Jacob and I had a low key evening with Grammy and Grandpa.  We had a campfire and just hung out!

Sunday we had dinner at Seven Stars Inn to celebrate Mommom Kolb's 80th birthday.  I think she was surprised and everyone had a very nice time.  I made a tree and every one filled out a leaf with words we thought of when we thought of Mommom.  We made her read them at the dinner and guess who wrote what.  Not surprisingly, many people wrote their favorite foods that she makes!

This coming weekend is busy with the fire company community day on Saturday.  I am hoping to get the house decorated for fall this week as well!  I love having the house smell like fall!!!

How far along? 30 weeks- baby is 3 pounds now!!!
Maternity clothes? excited to be wearing some of my fall clothes since the weather has been cooler.
Sleep: so tired at night….falling asleep pretty early.  Jim says I snore :)
Best moment this week: Celebrating Mommom’s 80th birthday with the family at Seven Stars.
Miss Anything?  Sweets!
Movement: No change….some times his kicks can be pretty hard, but still not feeling nearly as much as I did with Eric and Jacob
Food cravings: nothing really this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: This week was pretty good!  No gagging :)
Gender:  BOY
Labor Signs: nothing new
Symptoms: tiredness is back in full force, though I can get through most days without a nap, crazy pregnancy brain.... if I don't write something down, I do not remember it!
Belly Button in or out? Still in between
Happy or Moody most of the time
Happy
Looking forward to: Putting out fall decorations and pumpkins!!!
