McMillan's In Disney 2015 - Part 1

Sunday morning we left at 5 am for the Philadelphia Airport.  Our flight left at 8:10 am and we had quite a bit of turbulence, which caused me to get sick.  Thankfully the boys did well and we arrived in Orlando at 10:30 am.

We had a bit of a wait for the Magical Express bus but soon we were on our way to Disney's All Star Sports Resort!

I was hoping to get a text telling us our room was ready before we arrived, but no such luck.  Once we arrived I went to the lobby to check in and found that our room was ready.  I requested the Homerun section and first floor.  We were in the Homerun section, but the second floor.  Our room was close to the elevator though, so it wasn't a huge deal.  We were almost to our room when Lucas wiped out on the sidewalk and scraped his forehead!  Nice way to start our vacation!!!

After putting our carry on bags in the room we headed back to the food court for some lunch before making our way to the Magic Kingdom!

We really were excited to be here....not sure why everyone looks miserable!!!

We rode Dumbo and Barnstormer before using our fastpasses for Peter Pan, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountan and Alladin's Magic Carpets.   We had dinner at Pinocchio Village Haus then rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and the People Mover before calling it a night.

When we got back to the resort, we went for a quick swim in the baseball pool, unpacked and headed to bed.

Monday morning we were up early and had breakfast in the food court before heading to Epcot.

Jacob got his Mickey Waffles!

We arrived at Epcot before rope drop and went right to Soarin'.  Eric, Jacob and I rode Soarin' while Jim and Lucas rode Nemo.  After we all rode Nemo a second time before our first fastpass to meet Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy.  We weren't sure how Lucas would be with the characters, but he was so excited!

After meeting the characters, we rode Spaceship Earth then headed to World Showcase to have lunch around the world.  We tried Loaded Mac and Cheese from the Farm Fresh booth, Scallop with Spinach Gratin from Scottland, Pasta Gratin and Apple Strudel from Germany and Ravioli from Italy.  We stopped in America for a cheeseburger for Eric and frozen cokes for both the big boys.

Quick stop to Meet Daisy

After lunch we went to a special character meet and greet for Disney Visa cardholders.  It's a suprise which 2 characters are in the room.  We had Goofy and Pluto!

Then Jim, Eric and Jacob rode Test Track with a fastpass while Lucas and I shared a Mickey Bar!

Then it was time to head back to the resort for Lucas to nap while Eric and Jacob went swimming.

This was the baseball pool and Home run section of our resort.

We headed to Hollywood Studios about 5:00pm for dinner at Pizza Planet....pizzas, salad and meatball subs.

We enjoyed carrot cake cupcakes while we watched Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

Then it was off to watch Fantasmic.  It was packed and we ended up sitting in the very back so it was difficult to see the water part, but it was a good show. We packed a lot into our first full day in Disney!

Tuesday morning Jim went to the food court and brought breakfast back to the room.  We were off to the Magic Kingdom this morning!

Waiting for the Welcome Show to start

We rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Winnie the Pooh, The Speedway, Space Mountain, Little Mermaid and 7 Dwarfs Mine Train.

We went to Pete's Silly Sideshow to meet Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Minnie dressed up for the cirucs!

We had lunch reservations at Be Our Guest in the Beast's Castle.  The boys shared a grilled ham and cheese sandwich...hold the cheese!  Jim had a roast beef sandwich and I had braised pork with mashed potatoes.  Everything was delicious....especially the cupcakes!

After lunch we rode Pirates of the Caribbean and made our way to the front of the park for the boys to play Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom.  It's an interactive game around the park where you try to defeat villians with special sorcerer cards.  Each day everyone in your group can get a new pack of 5 cards as long as you open one portal so the boys ended up with 4 sets of cards!  They had a lot of fun with this!

Jim and Lucas went back to the room to rest while Eric, Jacob and I headed to Animal Kingdom for a short time.  We rode DINOSAUR, checked out the boneyard, had Mickey Bars and watched It's Tough to be a Bug 3D show.

Then we met up with Jim and Lucas at the resort and took the bus to Disney Springs for dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express and shopping....they couldn't wait to go to the Lego Store!

Dinner was so yummy!  Jacob ate this entire pizza (minus 1 slice he shared with Lucas), Eric had a chicken ceasar salad, I had mac and cheese, and Jim had a sandwich.  We had cookies, brownies and cheesecake for dessert. The total bill for our dinner was $75!  Thank goodness for free dining!!!

Had to hit up the Harley Davidson store for Grandpa!!!

Lucas stopped to dance at 2 of the performers that we going on that night too!  He was one tired little boy by the end of the night!

The rest of the week's details coming soon.......
