Official Start of Summer

Sadly our beach vacation had to come to an end.  We had such a great week!

Tyler was well taken care of while we were away, but I know he was glad to see us and excited to get his new toy the boys picked out!

Saturday and Sunday were spent working around the house.  Our garden is growing like crazy.  Jim and Jacob dug up some potatoes and picked a pepper and tomato.  They pulled up 2 onions but they weren't quite big enough yet.  Jacob is really enjoying the garden!

While Jim and I were working outside, the boys decided to play firefighter.  It was so cute to watch them run around in their fire gear and "pretend" to respond to calls.  I got a video of one of their "calls".

Monday and Tuesday we hung out around the house and relaxed from our busy week at the beach.  We made a summer schedule for the boys to follow during the day and so far they are doing great with it.  They always seem to do better when they have a schedule to follow and when they know what is coming next.

Wednesday the boys and I went to the Movie Tavern with Mom to see Monster's University.  The boys had a blast and Eric asked if we can go to that movie theater again because he liked that he had his own table to eat at!  Spent the rest of the day in the pool....  Glad we were able to spend Mom's birthday with her!

On Wednesday afternoon I had a doctor appointment. I gained a little more weight this month than I would have liked, but I guess I can attribute that to all the yummy food we ate at the beach last week.  I've already started back to my normal, more healthy eating since we've been home so hopefully next month won't be so bad.  Though it was hard to find,  I was finally able to hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler.  My last appointment the doctor wasn't able to locate the heartbeat with the doppler so she did an ultrasound so we could see the heartbeat.  The doctor told me today that she has a feeling my placenta is anterior which just means that the placenta is attached to the front of my uterus which makes it more difficult to locate the heartbeat with the doppler and I won't feel as much movement because there is more cushioning between me and the baby.  We'll find out for sure next week at the ultrasound but it's nothing to worry about.

How far along? 19 weeks…baby is the size of a mango
Maternity clothes? yep, no change here
Sleep: sleeping great back in my own bed
Best moment this week:  hearing the heartbeat at the doctor.  Feel like I’ve been waiting forever to finally hear it.
Miss Anything?  Nothing I can think of this week
Movement:  some movement...if my placenta is anterior this explains why I haven't felt too much.
Food cravings: made zucchini bread this week...so yummy!
Anything making you queasy or sick: brushing my teeth, emptying food containers when cleaning out the fridge.
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!- we’ll know next week!!!!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
Symptoms: so tired most days, backache…started doing some exercises in the pool to help with this
Belly Button in or out? Slowly coming out :)
Happy or Moody most of the time
Happy!
Looking forward to: the big ultrasound next week!!!

Beach

This past week was busy packing and getting ready for the beach!  Eric had his last day of school on Thursday.  We officially have a 2nd grader!

Friday night Eric played his 2nd playoff game.  They won!  Eric made some great plays!  Unfortunately his team lost on Saturday so the season is officially over.

Saturday afternoon we were off to the beach.  Thankfully we didn't hit much traffic on the way down and the boys were pretty good during the car ride....thanks to their new Lego Batman movie and mini figures.

Sunday morning Jim ran the Father's Day 5K.  He finished in 26.46 minutes....so proud of him :)

We've been very busy the last 4 days.  We've rode rides, played games, went on the beach and in the ocean (even though it's been like ice water), rode bikes, gone shopping and played mini golf.....and eaten lots!!!!

I wasn't able to ride rides this year :(

Sunday night we went for our usual dinner out to Jake's Seafood and took our annual group photo

and as usual Jacob fell asleep at the table

Tuesday afternoon and evening were a wash out.  We did some shopping in the rain while it was only drizzling.  I bought a new necklace and Mom bought us an adorable baby book for the baby.

The rest of the day was really yucky and we were stuck inside, making up our own fun.

Paper airplane races

Looking forward to better weather the rest of the week and lots more fun!

How far along? 18 weeks…baby is the size of a pint of ice cream :)

Thirty!

Everyone always asks if you feel older on your birthday...now I can finally say I do. For some reason turning 30 has made me feel so much older!  Could be because I was wide awake at 4:30am on Monday... :)

Jim planned a small surprise party for me with our family at the park.  It was so sweet!  Thankfully he did tell me about it an hour before we had to leave so I could get dressed nicely and fix my hair :)  I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful husband...and a wonderful family to celebrate with!

Jacob helping to put the candles on the cake!

No way was I going to fight with those two to blow out my candles!

My wonderful family!

Dad and the boys with spiked hair....after dumping water bottles on their heads to cool off!

The boys watching the deer in the field....love those two!!!

Mom and Dad kept the boys so Jim and I could go out for a peaceful dinner and some shopping.  I bought a new pair of sandals and we browsed at baby stuff!

On Sunday we went out for lunch with Mom and Dad and Eric played his first playoff game.  His team was ahead the entire game, but sadly lost by one run in the last inning.  They played so well, and it was HOT!!!

The Garrison's next door brought me homemade powdered donuts for breakfast on my birthday!!! They were yummy...not telling how many I ate ;)

The boys each bought me a new charm for my bracelet.  Eric picked the puppy at the top and Jacob picked the blue one below it!  They were so excited to give them to me in the morning.  Actually, Jacob told me on Sunday that he bought me a charm, but of course I still acted surprised!!!

Jim bought me a new lounge chair for the patio.  Looking forward to relaxing outside with my feet up!  Too bad it was raining on my birthday so I couldn't use it right away :(  i may or may not have sat on it in the kitchen.....

Monday night we went to Red Lobster with the boys!  The boys ate like we hadn't fed them all day!!!  Our days of going out to eat may be limited...we'll go broke :)  I had a fabulous 30th Birthday!!!

Two more days of school and 4 more days until the beach!  This week we'll be busy packing and getting ready for vacation!  I can't wait!!!

A week ago I was telling Mom and Dad about how I remember Dad bringing home box turtles that he would find on the road and we would keep them in a box on the back porch.  They always made us turn the box on it's side at night and if the turtle was still there in the morning, we could keep it another day.  Of course in the mornings we would search the yard but it was always gone.  Well, Friday morning I hear Dad's work truck backing in the driveway and he comes to the door with a turtle!

Jacob loved watching it in the box and when Eric got home from school we let it walk around on a blanket on the kitchen floor.  Later that afternoon we let it go out back.....I don't know the first thing about taking care of a turtle!  Nor do we need one more thing to worry about here :)

So, I've always thought these dolls were a little creepy, but this ad was in the newspaper on Sunday and I happened to notice the name of the doll.  The boys named the baby "Peanut" and have been calling it that since they found out I was pregnant.  Wondering if it could be a sign or just a coincidence!  HA HA  I guess we'll find out in a few weeks!

How far along? 17 weeks…baby is the size of an onion!
Maternity clothes?  Yep!  Just ordered some new tank tops for the beach!
Sleep: sleeping pretty good… using my pregnancy pillow now...Jim has a little less room in the bed :)
Best moment this week:  Celebrating my 30th birthday with my family!!!
Miss Anything? nothing I can think of this week.
Movement:  Can feel little flips in my belly, nothing from the outside yet
Food cravings: there’s nothing I have to have RIGHT NOW!  Still enjoying ice cream and Dad’s strawberries with whipped cream!
Anything making you queasy or sick: still just brushing my teeth
Gender:  We are hoping for a happy, healthy baby!- 3 more weeks!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a while!
Symptoms:  backache and a little nausea still
Belly Button in or out?  in
Happy or Moody most of the time Happy!
Looking forward to: Our Beach Vacation!  4 MORE DAYS!!!!!
