Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very productive Memorial Day weekend.  There were no baseball games scheduled so we decided to tackle some things around the house.  First on the list was to trim the bushes in the front flowerbeds.  When we got started Saturday morning, we realized the bushes were dead and rotted on the inside.  On to plan B....removing all 5 bushes!  What a difference!  We decided to make the one side into a patio sitting area.  We love the updated look.  The chairs belong to Mom and Dad but we're borrowing them until we find exactly what we want for that area.  I want to add another flower pot as well, but over all I think we accomplished a lot for one weekend!

BEFORE

AFTER

The boys had a great time playing outside while we worked!  Lucas even got his first tractor ride!  He was so excited watching Jim on the tractor.

Sunday morning Lucas had his first taste of waffle.  He loved it!

Monday morning we went back to Monocacy Hill with Mom and Dad.  The boys wanted to do the hike to the top of the hill again so they could climb on the big rocks.

The hike tired Lucas out!!

Then in the afternoon the boys went swimming for the first time this season.  Even Lucas was loving his new baby pool!

The next 2 weeks are busy again with baseball.  Jacob is finished school but will be in camp for the next 2 weeks.  Eric has 3 weeks of school left until summer break!  Looking forward to a fun filled summer vacation!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday!

We started out the morning with homemade cinnamon rolls that Jim made!  They were huge....and delicious!!!  The boys and Jim bought me a necklace I've been wanting with the boy's initials and a beautiful hanging flower.

We headed to Monocacy Hill to go for a hike.  We decided to do the uphill scenic hike.  The boys did great...even Lucas was babbling the whole way up the trail, even though it was his nap time.  The views from the top were pretty cool and the boys loved climbing on all the big rocks.  We finished with lunch at Red Robin!

We ended the day with dessert with Mom and Dad and Zach and Caitlin. It was a great day!

I'll end with some fun pictures from the last week!  Lucas is getting so big...definitely losing his baby look :(   Jacob graduates from Pre-K this week....I can't believe he's going to be in kindergarten soon!

Eric being a helpful big brother!

LIfe lately.....

Life has been pretty busy in the McMillan household. Between outside spring clean up, baseball practices and games and tending to a fussy baby, the month of April has just flown by!

We had a nice, relaxing Easter.  Other than attending church on Easter morning, we were able to spend the day at home.

The boys woke up Easter morning to find that the Easter Bunny had come, but he sent them on a treasure hunt to find their baskets!  Jacob wasn't too crazy about having to work to find his treats, but Eric seemed to have fun finding and solving the clues!

We had celebrated with the Kolb Family and Jim's family before Easter.  It was nice to spread it out so our holiday wasn't so rushed!

We've spent lots of time outside lately.....

Building a flower bed for blueberry bushes

Eric brought home a dogwood tree to plant.

We've also planted our veggies in the garden and started some plants inside.

We tried out a new trail at Valley Forge one weekend.

And the boys and I went for a hike through the township's nature trail.
Love this picture!!!

Last weekend we were invited to a fishing derby at Mommom and Poppop's old farm.  The boys had fun fishing though Grandpa was the only one who caught a fish.

Lucas has cut his first tooth, finally, but we think another one is coming because he's still pretty cranky!  Oh Lucas!  Thank goodness you're so cute!!!

Lucas has now mastered rolling over from his back to his belly!

Putting in the new basketball hoop.

Eric, shooting his crossbow from his tree stand (AKA the playhouse!)

Jim caught the boys being mechanics!  They took the hood off the truck and were "fixing" it!

May doesn't seem to be any less busy than April!  Looking forward to warmer weather and maybe a little less rain!
